反映石油流体的内摩擦力(或流动能力)的一个参数。其法定计量单位为帕·秒,过去常用厘泊作为单位,1厘泊=1毫帕·秒。轻质石油比重质石油黏度低,而在石油中溶解天然气会降低黏度。在地层中,石油黏度受温度、压力和溶解气等的影响,其巾温度的影响比压力的影响大,温度越高、黏度越低。地下石油的黏度比地面脱气石油的黏度要低很多。压力对石油黏度的影响分两个阶段：当压力小于饱和压力时,随着压力的增加,溶解气量增加,石油的黏度明显降低；当达到饱和压力后,继续增加压力,则石油黏度稍有增加。有些国家还用相对黏度值来表示石油的黏度。其方法足让一定数量的石油通过一定直径的小孔并计算其时问。常用的仪器有剑桥cambridge在线粘度计，高温高压PVT粘度计等。
